My parents were born in a little town of Erzincan where is named Ilýc at the half east of Turkey. There was a very big earthquake had occured in 1939 and after this big disaster they have decided to go to Istanbul. My dad had completed his education Ýstanbul about accounting. He was working as an accountant a few years. After that he's found better job in Ankara. We moved there in 1951. My elder brother was born in Istanbul. But I was born in Ankara 24.05.1953. Besides I was born twins but my twin brother died after 6 months when he was born. Therefore my mom cared me so attentive and safely. When I was teenage my brother has driven various cars, especially old Chevrolets. I was want to imitated him. But my father wanted me to finish my school, but I got so jealous of my brother and left school too early.
Thereby I was starting to work at taxi stands. Previously I washed cars and helped other drivers and I did everything whatever they want. When I was 18 years old I 've got my driving licence. After that I found very old cab Ford 1949 model 8 cylinder and I worked in it. Like every Turkish boy, when I was 20 years old, I had to go for completed my military service. This time, Cyprus war was started, but I never went there (1974). When I was in the
army I visited my army friend's home in Ankara. He has two sisters. I liked youngest one and we have married when I returned soldiery. She was 16 years old. I was 23. After 2 years we went to Istanbul just to visit her brother. Istanbul is a big city to starting life. When you decided to live in it you'll be doing everything to saving life. Thence we decided to buy minibus with my wifes brother as a partnership. Of course, driving a minibus is not easy job. You have to go to same road every day and so many people get in and and get out. It's taken 3 years with this hard job before I bought an old Turkish taxi car model Anadol. It has fiberglas protection cap and it's first own car. I had been starting as a taxi driver in this big city in
1981. I didn't know everywhere in this city so well. I always questioned my customers please tell me my way. Of course, this city full of tourists and they've got in my taxi but I didn't understand their conversation and I was feeling so angry . After that I was thinking honestly and I questioned myself "one university student learns so many lessons, why I couldn't learning only English?" This decision was very important point of my life. So I was attending one year English course. I was the oldest student. I was trying to learning, but not easy, so I went to same class again. It took one year. Time elapsed and I have started working in tourist section, Sultanahmet. Everyday I met so many people from diffrent countries. All of
them helped me to developing my English. After that I realized only English was not enough, so I have started learning a few different languages. Of course I learned most of the romantic word which is used like: "I love you , you have got pretty eyes, are you married, what are you doing tonight, I never seen like you pretty woman" etc. Now I have more then 20 guests boks which were written by my customers that are categorized according to the countries. "Mediterranenan, Scandinavian, USA , Canada, Asian, African"etc. There are incredible archives with photographs. I wanted to writing all their experiences from my customers about my day tour. But most of them wrote "Ihsan is very crazy man " Sometimes my working tempo was being felt me very tried. I was working so hard and spending more time for tourists. I forgot to no time to care my family and my wife. And most evening I came
home so late and tried. In morning I left home very early. My marriage was getting crackle and my wife was so angry; also she was jealous my new life.Once upon a time she found so many pictures with so many tourists (sometimes women) at the enjoying. Every time I promised her never again like this kind life. It's only part of my job. I have to earn money. This bad situation was keeping a little time. But my other taxi driver friends
changed my thought again very quickly. When I met all these foreign people and started learning their experiences and it's feeling me finished so many university. I specially liked young tourists. They traveled so many country, stay cheap hotel, eating cheap food but learning so many things. I'm realy very jealous them. They are so friendly with eachother and stay same room men and female, but they not thinking this is any wrong idea. 
Time elapsed so fast. Now I'm 57 years old, and 30 years working with tourists. But now I'm single man because 9 years ago I have divorced. My wife decided to attending her life without me. I understood her and now I still. I have got four children, three girl and a boy. Two of them have married and I have got three grand childs. The other my children stay with my ex- wife. I want to mention about how is start my web page adventure. This project has been started 10 years ago. So many customers told me "why don't you think create your webpage". Indeed these advises seemed to me very interesting. Thus not only people get in my cab know me, everyone knows me thanks to my individual webpage. I was thinking myself, this is really good idea. But I have no time and enough money. Even I didn't know and what was I doing? One fine day I met my customer randomly. He was a web master and he liked my fun and he overseed all my guests books. He told me that "I'll have phoned you and also in my spare time I could created your webpage " And he phoned me then we started to making my webpage together and his young worker. After that they asked me " what do you want to put name is this web page ?" I suddenly told them "www.besttaxidriver.com" Because it is written
upon of the my visiting card so many years. Also all my guests tell me "You're Best Taxi Driver" and write it on guests books. Subsequently we had disagned webpage, people getting inside in it, then wrote opinions on my webpage. Everyone says "Conratulations really interesting webpage, we respect your business" etc. A few years later I was very famous cab. First I had been on A.B.C. TV (Foreign Correspondent 2000) and after that Discovery Channel (City Cabs) then National Geographic Channel (100 Dolar Taxi Ride) and last one Travel Channel (No Reservations in Istanbul). I have been also so many times in Turkish TV and local newspapers .At now I want to try updating my webpage. I believe I have had so many nice things in my life. We made city tours with more then 3000 tourists and we talked about cultures, religions, their lifes and expectations etc. Now my new hobby is
reading as much as more English novels whereever I go and one day I'll come your presentation as I'll have been written my own book which includes all my life and experiences. Thanks all your best wishes. I hope to we will meet in my cab soon.
